My Vintage Hammerhead Darts...........
Fellow DartsNuts

I'm pretty sure after watching the 1985 & 1987 World Cup of Darts that these are a Signature set of 24 gram Hammerhead Darts that American Dart Player Rick Ney Threw. Like Most Bottelsen Darts There are Two Different Versions The Smooth and the Knurled Barrels.

Any help to confirm that these are a set of Rick Ney Hammerheads is Greatly Appreciated.

Kind Regards
Bret

Can't help you with the identification, but even today I believe I could probably find at least 50 players in our local league using either Hammerheads or Power Points with knurled barrels as their go-to dart.

I own a set of Eric Bristow Power Points I got in the 80's with the relatively smooth barrels with grooves cut into them for a bit of grip.   I no longer play with them, but do occasionally toss them to the board for old times sake.

Bret,

I have an old dart mag with a Bottelsen ad and those are definitely Rick Ney darts.

Hi bkbum

Thanks for the reply and the verification that they are Rick Ney Signature Darts.

Kind Regards

A darting guru sent me a link to an ad and I have blown up the pics below, so as you can see these are a little different:

From the pictures, it looks like the very first section past the taper of the point in the bottom picture is a bit longer than the OP's pic of his darts.    There seems to be a bit more area in that part of the dart that is knurled.

Yeah the 3 main knurl sections look wider in the ad pic, its possible its the same and maybe there was just some difference in the manufacture?

Differences may be due to the darts in the ad being a different weight than Bret's.
